Principles that ensure answered prayers from God and that we receive whatever we ask from God :
These “principles” are not derived from any book written by men or from the life experiences of men. These are called “principles” because there is an act and there is a result and they are hidden (maybe obvious) words in the Bible but need to be reveled to the sight of God’s children. These “principles” are not some “try and error” and they do not “work for a certain group of people”. These are biblical facts and anyone that follows these words of God will see the results.
The key here is knowing and following the Word of God to the core.
Now let’s get into these words of God I call “principles”;
1 John 3:19-23 NIV
19 “This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:
20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”
21 “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God
22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.”
1 John 5:13-15 NIV
13 “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
14 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
Principle 1:
From the above passages above (combined), we see that as humans, we are condemned in our hearts daily due to our sins and guilts because we do not have a knowledge of who God is and what He has in stored for us (eternal life), we move in this condemnation even when we are before God’s presence.
God is creator of all things and He knows all things, even the things in our heart. He knows our sins and is greater than all of it. He is loving and sees not our sins. He has given us a life in Him (Jesus Christ); Eternal Life. That when we become born again we receive this life and take on a new divine identity as ; Children of God.
Meaning God becomes our father and we are His children.
So in a father-child relationship, there’s no barrier between the father and his child and whatever the child says to the father He hears and will give what the child asks to them. This is our relationship with God our father. A child is confident before their father because they know these about their father.
We as children of God however need to have this knowledge and meditate on this knowledge we have received and build it into a confidence we have in God our father.
The chain of confidence that is built are:
I. Confidence that we have eternal life which means we are children of God and there’s not barrier between us and Him hence He hears us whenever we speak to Him.
II. Confidence that when He hears us, He’s a faithful and loving father to give us whatever we ask Him.
Principle 2:
We can also see from the above passage 1 John 3 : 22&23 that doing what pleases God by keeping His commands is a principle that opens Him up to answer our requests and give us what we desire.
The commands as said by John are;
I. to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ.
II. to love one another as he commanded us.
Principle 3:
John 14:13-14 NIV
13 “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
14 “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
The above verses give us the next principle that draws answers when we pray or ask anything from God. This principle was stated clearly by the Lord Jesus Christ himself when speaking to his disciples concerning Him being the way to the Father; God Almighty and that He is in himself God.
The reason why the Lord Jesus will do what we ask in His name is so that God the Father will be glorified and seen in Him Jesus the Son. The word “S(s)on of God” in the carnal sense will mean anyone born by born, but in the biblical and spiritual sense “S(s)on of God”, “child(ren) of God”, “being born of God” means God in a human body. Hence Jesus Christ is God in a human body which makes Him the “Son of God”.
We also as believers become born of God or children/sons of God when we receive and accept Him into us and are baptized in water and the Spirit; then He comes to live in us completely - no longer us that live but Him in us (God in a human body). So the Lord Jesus will do what we ask in His name so that God will be honored through His being and we also ought to glorify God in our bodies as well for it is His dwelling place.
So;
- If anyone wants to receive whatsoever they ask Him or pray for, then they’ll have to ask or pray for such things in His name; The Name of Jesus Christ.
Meaning that the name of Jesus Christ is very powerful a name to cause God Almighty to give us whatever we ask or pray about, and all we need to do is just ask and pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
“In the Name of Jesus Christ…….”, and it is DONE.
Principle 4:
“And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”
James 5:15 NIV
The next word to look at from the Bible is “prayer offered in faith”; Faith as a currency to answered prayer. Faith is an evidence we have in the things that are yet to come or the unseen hence if we have an evidence of what we are praying about in our spirits and minds whiles praying and asking for them, we eventually cause them to manifest because you cannot have an evidence of what you don’t possess. Evidences are related to things that are in ones possession and if we have an evidence of what we are asking and praying about then it must be backed with the actual thing in our possession hence a manifestation.
Faith also as a belief in what we don’t see and what we don’t understand causes massive manifestations of God’s love unto us by Him answering our prayers. Because we believe in what we are asking that it’ll be given and also believe in the one giving that He’ll give, He see this faith and is pleased and honors us.
Per the word of God in the above verse, it is the prayer offered in faith that will make the sick person well meaning it is the prayer offered in faith that’ll draw and bring answers to our prayers and ensure that we get what we’re asking.
Principle 5:
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
James 5:16 NIV
Another important factor that ensures that our prayers are answered is; Righteousness. This is one other currency that draws answers from God when we pray and ask from Him. Per the above verse, a powerful and effective prayer is one that is answered immediately; backed with answers. This is so not by anything but because the one asking is “righteous”.
Looking at the verse above, the word of God asks us to confess our sins and seek redemption which will make us clean and pure. Then we can pray for each other and for anything and we’ll receive it.
So it’s either we are seeking redemption and purification before we ask for anything from God, or we live a life of complete righteousness hence whenever we pray and ask we receive.
Righteousness is purity in the sight of God.
-The key here is “a righteous person.”
